The AdRoll Pixel helps you track your website visitors and retarget them through AdRoll’s advertising network. It collects valuable data about user activity on your site, helping you optimize your campaigns and improve conversions. Here’s how to set it up:
Step 1: Access Your AdRoll Account
Log in to your AdRoll account at https://www.adroll.com.
In the dashboard, click on Pixels under the Audience tab.
Step 2: Create an AdRoll Pixel
Click on Create Pixel.
Name your pixel (e.g., "My Website Pixel") and click Create Pixel.
Step 3: Install the AdRoll Pixel Code
Copy the generated AdRoll Pixel code from your dashboard.
Step 4: Add the Pixel Code to Your Website
Paste the AdRoll Pixel code into the <head> section of your website’s HTML.
If you are using a tag manager like Google Tag Manager, you can also install the AdRoll pixel through that platform for easier management.
Step 5: Set Up Events (Optional)
You can track user actions on your website using standard events like:
PageView – for when a user visits your site.
AddToCart – for when a user adds a product to their cart.
Purchase – for when a user completes a purchase.
To set up event tracking:
Go to Pixels in the AdRoll dashboard.
Select the pixel you created and follow the instructions to add event-specific codes.
Step 6: Verify the Pixel Installation
Use the AdRoll Pixel Helper Chrome extension to check if the pixel is firing properly.
The extension will indicate whether the pixel is correctly installed and tracking the desired events.
Step 7: Monitor and Optimize Campaigns
Once the pixel is up and running, monitor your campaigns in the AdRoll dashboard. The pixel data allows you to retarget users, segment your audience, and optimize campaigns for higher conversions.
Troubleshooting Tips for AdRoll Pixel
Pixel Not Firing: Ensure the pixel is installed correctly in the <head> section of your website.
Event Tracking Issues: Double-check that event codes are added to the correct pages. For example, add the "Purchase" event code to the confirmation page.
